Customs & Logistics Officer

Our global client is looking for a Customs & Logistics Officer to join their team in Southampton. This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as an expert in HMRC customs procedures, ensuring legal compliance
• Support the finance team with duty deferment account queries
• Stay updated on HMRC regulations and support import/export operations
• Manage compliance, risk, and customs audits
• Liaise with HMRC and other authorities to facilitate clearances
• Negotiate freight costs and prepare competitive quotations
• Maintain customer relationships and promote services

What You Need:

• 3+ years in Freight Forwarding, Import/Export
• Customs Qualification (BIFA - BTEC)
• 5+ years in customs clearance roles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must have Experience with T1 creation, discharge, and setup
• Ability to manage logistics independently
• Negotiation skills and a positive, adaptable attitude
