    Grounds Maintenance Operative
    Location: Gillingham (ME8)
    Salary: From £13.50 per hour (£28,080)
    Job Type: Full Time, Temp - Perm

    Do you enjoy working outdoors and keeping spaces neat and professional? We're looking for dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our experienced team, maintaining green spaces around secure and high-profile sites such as substations and gas terminals in the Gillingham area and beyond.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    • Working in a two-person team to carry out grounds maintenance tasks across various client sites

    • Ensuring all work meets the highest health and safety standards

    • Using PA1 and PA6 certificates (especially knapsack spraying) as part of daily operations

    • Travelling to different locations, sometimes requiring overnight stays (with bonus pay)

    • Communicating effectively with internal teams to ensure smooth operations

    Essential Requirements:

    • PA1 & PA6 qualifications (knapsack spraying preferred)

    • Full UK Driving Licence

    • Strong understanding of health and safety practices

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    • Willingness to travel and occasionally stay overnight when required

    Nice to Have (But Not Essential):

    • PA2ar (quad bike spraying)

    • Woodchipper training

    • Utility Arboriculture qualifications

    • SHEA Passports (Gas, Power, or Water)

    • First Aid and Manual Handling certifications

    • Grounds Maintenance/Competent Person qualifications for substations
